Meet the Tutor
Christine is a skilled Specialist Teacher and Assessor who has worked within SEND (Special Educational Needs and Disabilities) for over 20 years. She has worked on a one to one basis covering all age groups from Year 1 to Year 12 gaining an extensive knowledge on how to assess, plan and teach students with Dyslexia or other Specific Learning Difficulties.
Christine holds the following qualifications:
OCR Level 7 Diploma in Teaching and Assessing Learners with Dyslexia / Specific Learning Difficulties
OCR Level 5 Diploma in Teaching Learners with Dyslexia / Specific Learning Difficulties
CACHE Level 3 Diploma in Child Care and Education
Christine is passionate about helping students to understand how they learn best so that they are able to reach their full potential. To ensure students are making good progress, Christine assesses their reading and spelling abilities before and after intervention. Her ability to use assessment outcomes to write individual learning plans and create tailored learning activities provide a good basis for her students to start developing their own learning skills.
Tutoring
Each one hour bespoke tutoring session takes place in person, on a one-to-one basis. Activities are tailored to each learner’s individual needs, capitalising on their strengths. The learner will be shown strategies they can use outside of the tutoring sessions to help with school work. Activities are fun and varied and use a multi-sensory approach.
Available within the Durham area.
